5 Ways to Carry Your Scarf This Winter

5 Ways to Carry Your Scarf This Winter

Scarves need not be boring. Turn it into a fun accessory. It can keep off the chills in the winter but in a fun way. This tiny scrap of cloth is highly versatile – whether you wear it in summers or in the winters. Here we have the top 5 ways to carry your scarf this winter – the 5 best ways apart from the classic and as a headscarf.

#1. The Neckerchief:

This is a simple way to drape your scarf. You gather the cloth in the front in the form of a triangle and tie a knot at the back or at the front. You can also bring the ends to the front and leave them on the sides or tuck them beneath the triangle. A square scarf works well for this style.

How to Tie

  • Create a large triangle by folding the scarf. Bring the opposite ends together, with the center beneath your chin.
  • Fold it diagonally and you get a triangle.
  • Take the ends to the back of your neck and tie a knot or bring it to the front and tuck it in.
  • Here is your neckerchief!

#2. Cowl Neck Style:

This is another awesome style that is similar to the neckerchief but the front is longer. Instead of folding the scarf twice, just get hold of the ends and wrap it. No knots and no tying!

How to Tie

  • Take the two ends of the scarf to the back of your neck and wrap it. Let the middle of the scarf fall loosely at the front.

#3. The Belted Drape:

This is by far the easiest and looks good every time.  While a rectangular scarf works well, a square scarf would be better. You also need a skinny belt. Drape the scarf around your neck and let it fall on the sides. Cinch it with a belt.

How to Tie

  • If you are using a square scarf, then fold it into a triangle and continue folding, until you have a skinny rectangle. If you are using a rectangular scarf, then keep folding the length, until you have a skinny scarf.

  • Cinch at the waist with a skinny belt.
  • Done!

#4. The Infinity Style:

This is one of the oldest styles and still very popular. All you have to do is wrap the knotted scarf twice around your neck, with a long and short wrap.

How to Tie

  • Bring the two ends of the scarf together and tie a knot.
  • Wrap it around the neck twice and with one wrap longer than the other.

#5. The Loop:

You need a long scarf for this – in fact, the longer, the better. The loop is just folding the scarf lengthwise and looping the loose end through the fold.

How to Tie

  • Fold the scarf lengthwise.
  • Wrap it around your neck.
  • Pull the loose end through the fold that you just made.
  • Pull the ends tight or adjust according to your comfort.
  • Fluff the ends and ta-da! You are done!

Conclusion

Whether your scarf is long and rectangular or square, there are different ways to use it to your advantage. Don’t let this must-have be a boring piece of cloth hanging loosely around your neck. Make the best use of it. Use it to enhance your outfit. Stave off the chills and let this accessory do more than keep you warm this winter.
